SPECIAL WORKSHOPS WITH HELENA
JOIN HELENA TO EXPAND YOUR PRACTICE WITH A DEEP INFLUENCE OF SPIRITATUALITY
If you seek a yoga class with Sanskrit chanting, the Yamas, meditation and the weaving of spiritual practices into your yoga classes, you will love trying Helena’s Jivamukti yoga.
Jivamukti is a vigorous Vinyasa-style yoga practice inspired by the traditional Hatha yoga lineage. Its name is derived from the Sanskrit word “jivanmuktih”, which means “liberation while living.”
Although it's a strong physical practice, the Jivamukti yoga method is highly spiritual.
Every Jivamukti yoga class features the “five tenets” forming the practice's core philosophy. These are Ahimsa (Non-Violence), Bhakti (chanting and devotional practices), Dhyana (mediation), Nada (sound and music), and Shastra (exploration of yogic scriptures).
Jivamukti was founded in 1984 by artist David Life and musician/dancer Sharon Gannon. Both teachers studied with Swami Nirmalanda, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and Guru Sri Brahmananda Sarasvati.
Helena will be hosting specific Jivamukti classes and a number of workshops for improving your inversions, splits and back bending practices.
We will be delighted to welcome you to join with Helena for this Satsang: gathering of good people for the performance of devotional activities through yoga.
